Laser Hair Removal
Light-based hair removal was first used in 1994 and the procedure became widespread in the late 1990s, receiving FDA approval in 1998.
In laser hair removal, which is effective by disrupting the structure and function of stem cells that provide hair formation, laser beams absorbed by melanin pigment create intense heat energy and damage stem cells. For this reason, dark hairs benefit more from laser hair removal. It is applied repeatedly and it is not possible to determine a precise number of sessions.
Various devices with different wavelengths can be used for laser hair removal. The specialist doctor should decide which device will be used for whom according to the person’s health condition, skin color and hair structure.
Laser hair removal creates a more successful and permanent effect in women than in men. However, if there is a hormonal disorder, it must first be treated.
