The smegma dirt structure with components such as urine residue + sweat + dust in the space between the foreskin and the penis head can cause penis head infections and may pose a risk for penile cancer if hygienic rules are not observed. For cleaning, the foreskin should be pulled back and the dirt formed in the space between should be wiped with a wet cloth and removed from the environment.
Narrow tip of the foreskin in the penis phimosis. Or the retracted foreskin cannot be brought forward again and compresses and strangles the head of the penis is called paraphimosis and both are causes of circumcision. Phimosis causes the child to strain while urinating and increases the risk of infection. paraphimosis necessitates circumcision against the risk of gangrene of the penis head, which is strangled and blood supply is impaired. Circumcision is widely practiced against the risk of penile cancer, which is more common in Western Islamic societies than in other societies.
Circumcision, or circumcision in its medical name, is briefly defined as the cutting and removal of the prepicium of the foreskin covering the head of the penis. This procedure is performed either by the “circumcision method”, in which the foreskin is pinched and cut off, or by a competent circumciser or a physician by surgically cutting and removing it circularly and finishing it with sutures.
Complications can also be seen in circumcision procedures. Injury to the head of the penis during the incision, insufficient cutting of the foreskin or removal of excess skin, bleeding may occur. For this reason, it is healthy to be performed by competent people who can eliminate such negativities.
Circumcision can be performed at any age. It can be performed under local or general anesthesia; physicians preferably recommend circumcision under general anesthesia. In the newborn age group, in the first 1 month, circumcision with the device called bell can be performed bloodlessly and without stitches, and circumcisions at this age are frequently recommended because they heal quickly and are trouble-free. There are also applications with klps, cautery or laser, but they are not applied in our clinic.
