Prof. Dr. İbrahim VARGEL graduated from Nazilli High School in 1973. He graduated from Ankara Gazi Faculty of Education, Department of Physics-Chemistry-Biology in 1977. Between 1979-1986, while he was a student at Hacettepe University Sivas Faculty of Medicine, he worked as a teacher in secondary education institutions and as an administrative officer in Hacettepe University Hospitals Clinical Services. He completed his specialty training at Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine, Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery in 1997. In 1998, he became the first craniofacial surgery doctoral student of the Advanced Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Sciences Doctorate Program at Hacettepe University Institute of Health Sciences. He completed the DFPS craniofacial surgery fellowship program at Erasmus University. He studied tissue engineering on Regenerative Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh Research Center, where he went with a YÖK scholarship. Prof. Dr. VARGEL, who was promoted to professorship at Hacettepe University with his outstanding studies, continues to serve his patients at HC International Clinic and in his private practice.
His areas of interest are congenital/hereditary craniofacial anomalies and their correction, vascular malformations, skin tumors and Regenerative Medicine/tissue engineering.
