BIOGRAPHY

He completed his primary, secondary and high school education at TED Ankara College and graduated in 1985. He graduated from Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine in 1991. He completed his speciality education in the Department of Psychiatry of the same faculty in 1997. He received the title of associate professor in 2004 and professor in 2011 in the same department.

In 2003, within the scope of ‘Mayo Foundation/Mayo Clinic’ (Rochester MN, USA), ‘Mayo Visiting Clinician Programme’, he received a ‘visiting clinician’ certificate by observing in the Gene Unit (Genomic Expression and Neuropsychiatric Evaluation-GENE Unit) of the Department of Psychiatry. Afterwards, she received the ‘Research Collaborator’ status renewed every year in this clinic and with this status, she made 15-day visits to the same clinic twice a year between 2005-2007.

In 2002, he received TUBITAK and Brain Research Association-Project Support Award, and in 2003 he received TUBITAK and Brain Research Association-Travel and Education Scholarship (Mayo Foundation/Mayo Clinic, Gene Unit, USA).

During his entire academic education and experience, he mainly worked on the genetics, electrophysiological infrastructure and clinic of mood disorders. He has received numerous national project, paper, poster awards and a guided project support (as a project coordinator) that enabled the start of electrophysiological studies in psychiatric disorders for the first time in 2003 in HÜTF Psychiatry Department.

She has many international and domestic articles, reviews, case reports, proceedings, book chapters and published panel abstracts.

HÜTF psychiatry clinic has organised many educational meetings in order to inform inpatients and outpatients and their families about bipolar disorder (bipolar disorder) (psychoeducation).

He was the general secretary of the Gestalt Therapy (GT) Association, of which he was a member. She served as an editorial board member (2003-2004) of ‘Temas: GT Journal’ (2003-2004), which is the publication organ of the Gestalt Therapy Association, and various articles were published in this journal.

She received individual psychotherapy (between 2001-2007, 120 hours in total) from Prof. Dr. Ceylan Daş, who received her GT training at Metanoia Institute (London, England). She participated in theoretical and practical study groups (210 hours, 10 groups/1998-2007) and experiential groups (50+20 hours, 2 groups/2004-2005) conducted by Prof. Dr. Ceylan Daş within the GT Association in Turkey.

Between 2008 and 2014, she participated in weekly psychoanalytically oriented group therapy (1.5 hours per week for 7 years, 156 hours in total) for educational and therapeutic purposes conducted by Dr Ülkü Gürışık, a ‘Fellow’ of the Tavistock Institute of Psychoanalysis, Educational Psychoanalyst and member of the International Psychoanalysis Association.

During her research assistantship, she received theoretical and practical training in the field of ‘Psychoanalytically Oriented Psychotherapy’ from Prof. Dr. Leyla Zileli, Prof. Dr. Orhan Öztürk, Prof. Dr. Sağman Kayatekin and in the field of ‘Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapy’ from Prof. Dr. Işık Savaşır at HÜTF Psychiatry Department for 5 years, including individual and peer group patient supervision.

She is currently giving theoretical and practical training to research assistants in the Department of Psychiatry at HÜTF, especially on mood disorders, and has been providing ‘Individual Therapy Supervision’ for one hour a week since 2007.

For a long time, in addition to her academic studies, she has been carrying out her private practice of seeing patients and has been continuing her practice of psychotherapy together with medical treatment in mood disorders, which are her main area of interest, and in this and other psychiatric disorders.

He was entitled to receive a certificate of participation by completing the theoretical-practical-supervised ‘Family and Marriage Therapy’ training given by Prof.Dr.Hürol FIŞILOĞLU, the founder, director and trainer of the Relationship Compass Family Studies Institute and completed in 3 levels of 40 hours each (1st Level 11/10/2023-15/10/2023, 2nd Level 24/01/2024-28/01/2024, 3rd Level 5/06/2024-9/06/2024).
